PLANNING: CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

When developing our characters we decided to hot seat/interview the actors which were playing these roles. This had been inspired by an article written by Charlie Sierra, which we saw on the Film Escape website which discussed building a backstory to a different character. This allowed the producers, actors and directors to create a deeper back story for our characters. We created a number of questions which we felt were necessary to ask the actors in our production.

We also felt that it was a good idea to create an audio presentation which includes a visual of the actor who is speaking. We upload it to the official YouTube channel of The Fugitive (click to see).

Shown below are the questions asked in black and the answer given by actors in red.

  1. Very impressive creativity here! I was intrigued by your 'hot seating' interview of three central characters - very thorough work - in which you combine a still image of the character and a sound file of their interviews. Most effectively done. Very well organised work, with scripts for your cast.
